I’ve been cooking my way through a collection of vintage recipes since last fall; here are 5 of my favorites, including meatloaf and hot-fudge pudding cake!

This classic fluffy omelet is lightly textured and egg-ily delicious. Top it with a scattering of minced fresh herbs for an easy brunch or lunch.

After cooking my way through a collection of vintage recipes that I purchased late last summer, I’ve finally found a clue about the woman they belonged to.

I keep running into recipes for rice pudding, so I dipped into my vintage recipe card collection to find a classic recipe for this comforting dessert. I love this updated version.

This old-fashioned creamy corn soup can be made with frozen corn. It’s great with a sprinkle of crumbled cooked bacon or finely diced red pepper.

It took some doing to revamp a vintage recipe for cheesy chicken shortcakes, but the result was totally worth it. Kind of like inside-out pot pie.

This simple salad combines winter’s best produce: creamy avocado and sweet-tart orange; a little drizzle of good olive oil is all it takes to bring it all to life.
